The Importance of Physicians

The true cornerstones of the University of Nevada School of Medicine Student Outreach Clinic are the generous health professionals that volunteer their time to assist the needs of the uninsured in Northern Nevada, and to contribute to the education of the next generation of medical professionals. If you are a licensed health professional interested in donating your time and skills, we wholeheartedly welcome your participation. Some of our volunteer physicians attend every clinic, while others come about once every few months. The majority of our volunteer physicians attend the clinic on average once a month. We are appreciative of any commitment that you can make.
The next steps
If you are intersted in finding out more about volunteering with the clinic, please contact our Community Relations Officer, Iolanda Edsall, at iedsall@medicine.nevada.edu. She will be able to answer any questions that you may have and guide you through the next steps. As we understand the nature of a hectic work week, we have made signing up for clinics as easy as possible. If you are already registered with the site as a physician, just click here to be walked through the simple process of signing up to work at a clinic.
