Diabetes Group Visits

Have you or someone you care about
been diagnosed with diabetes?

-Come learn more about living, and thriving, with diabetes!-

The University of Nevada School of Medicine Student Outreach Clinic has begun to offer Free Educational Diabetes Group Visits once a month.  Please refer to the online calendar to the left for upcoming group visit dates.  We have separate group visits in both English and Spanish.  Please download the informational flyer in English and en Español.

In addition to allowing adults with diabetes to meet and discuss questions with other adults facing similar challenges, these session are will help adults that are uninsured (or underinsured with Medicare/Medicaid) to learn more about:

  • What diabetes is and what that means for their health
  • Diabetes-related nutrition and exercise information
  • Blood pressure and glucose checks

These visits will also allow adults with diabetes the opportunity to meet and discuss questions with other adults facing similar challenges, as well as the opportunity to get some regular physical medical check-ups (e.g. blood glucose, blood pressure, foot checks, etc).  Complete physical check-ups and lab work are NOT done during group visits, but we will help you find times to get those important services done.

To sign up:
Ask the front-desk at any Student Outreach Clinic OR leave a message with your name, phone number, and the date of the group visit you would like to attend on our voicemail at (775) 682-8646.
